Why therapy?
Guidance toward lasting change and a deeper sense of ownership over your life.
As a psychologist, I help people who are looking for deep and lasting change. My approach is engaged, direct when needed, and always experience-oriented.
Together we investigate how everyday experiences contribute to patterns in which you get stuck and how psychological processes influence your self-esteem. This therapy is not a standard solution in which you are taught tricks, but a joint search for what works for you. This requires an open collaboration, tailored to your unique situation.
My approach is customized and based on the latest insights in Process-Based Behaviour Therapy (PBBT®). Behavioral therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) form the core of my approach, in which your personal story is always the starting point.

What can you expect?
True transformation occurs when you get to know yourself on a deeper level—not just by understanding who you are, but also by looking with care at the parts of yourself that are difficult or painful to acknowledge. Being seen and acknowledged in this process can be immensely valuable.
In a safe and open collaboration, we create a space in which you can explore yourself. Step by step we investigate what your relationship with yourself looks like and where you may be stuck. By looking at this with attention, you get the chance to reshape your story and give more conscious direction to your life.
The main cause of psychological pain is not the situation itself, but the meaning you give to it and the ways in which you try to avoid or resolve the pain, usually unconsciously.

Behavior
If you keep doing what you've always done, you'll keep getting what you've always gotten. The tricky thing is that changing your behavior is not that easy. This is because we always encounter ourselves, our fears, insecurities, pain, fatigue, etc. Our history largely determines what our mind allows us to do and what it doesn't. As a behavioral therapist, I help people gain insight into these patterns and make change possible step by step.

Scientifically substantiated
Process-Based Behavior Therapy (PBBT) is cutting-edge science, based on the latest insights into how identity is formed and how behavior is maintained. Instead of following fixed protocols, PBBT focuses on the underlying psychological processes that drive change. My approach is scientifically substantiated and combines the latest knowledge from psychology, neuroscience and behavioral science.

Sustainable growth
All around us, we encounter well-meaning advice: start journaling, practice gratitude, meditate, eat healthily. These can contribute to a good life, but when the purpose of these activities is to escape discomfort, they may actually reinforce it. In that sense, they serve the same function as smoking a cigarette. They become a trick, and tricks don’t work in the long term.

We are like fish swimming in the sea, unaware that we are surrounded by water. In the same way, we are mostly unaware of our own psychological system, which impacts every aspect of our lives.
